On the issues

  • Nebraskans continue to suffer from high property taxes. Young families are struggling to be able to afford a home and seniors are being priced out of theirs. I am committed to bringing bipartisan solutions to fix our broken property tax system so you can keep more of what you earn.

  • Every child deserves a high quality education that prepares them for a career. I will work to ensure our schools have the funding, staff, and resources they need to to set up each Nebraskan for success and will stand up to political attacks on our schools.

  • Nebraska has over 76,000 regulations on businesses, driving up costs for consumers. We must regularly examine these regulations and remove outdated provisions which hurt small businesses. I will also support workforce development programs to help workers obtain higher wages and businesses end staffing shortages.

  • Public safety is the most important role of government. I will work collaboratively with first responders to ensure they have the tools they need to keep us safe. Specifically, I will work to recruit and retain more officers to the Omaha Police Department which is currently understaffed. I will also support increased investments in evidence-based crime prevention and mental health services which have been proven to save taxpayers money.

  • You should never have to choose between getting medicine and providing for your family. Unfortunately, many Nebraskans continue to lack access to healthcare or are being forced to pay enormous costs for it. We deserve better. I am committed to ensuring every Nebraskan can get the medicine and treatment they need and will work to reduce prescription drug costs.

  • The incumbent in this race voted to gut voter-approved ballot initiatives on paid sick leave, the minimum wage, and medical cannabis. As your representative, I vow to respect your vote and will never overturn a voter-approved measure even if I personally disagree.
